A Joinery Site Engineer oversees the installation, coordination, and quality control of all woodwork and joinery elements on a construction or fit-out project. They act as the bridge between the design, production, and site installation teams -- ensuring that the joinery works (doors, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, wall cladding, furniture, etc.) are executed according to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the installation of all joinery and woodwork items on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Review and interpret technical and shop drawings, verify site measurements, and identify discrepancies or design conflicts for resolution.
Coordinate with main contractors, consultants, and other trades (civil, MEP, finishing) to ensure smooth workflow and avoid clashes.
Monitor project progress, prepare daily and weekly site reports, and assist in meeting project deadlines and schedules.
Ensure all joinery materials, finishes, and hardware delivered to the site comply with approved samples and project requirements.
Oversee the quality of workmanship during installation, conduct inspections and snagging, and ensure timely rectification of defects.
Plan and organize manpower, tools, and materials to optimize productivity and maintain project efficiency.
Enforce health and safety standards on-site in compliance with company and local regulations.
Liaise with the production/factory team to ensure accurate fabrication according to site conditions and project timelines.
Provide technical support and solutions to site teams to overcome challenges and maintain quality and progress.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the UAE construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction standards and methods
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
UAE Driving License is an advantage
Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)
