Job Summary

The Site Engineer will oversee and manage all steel structure erection works at project sites across Saudi Arabia. The role requires strong technical knowledge in structural steel installation, site coordination, manpower supervision, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in

steel erection, alignment, bolting, welding, and crane lifting operations

.

Key Responsibilities1. Site Execution & Supervision

Manage day-to-day steel erection activities at site. Ensure erection is carried out according to

approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications

. Coordinate installation of

columns, beams, rafters, purlins, platforms, staircases, handrails, and heavy structural members

. Oversee

tower structures, pipe racks, trusses, mezzanines, and steel buildings

. Ensure proper alignment using instruments such as

total station, theodolite, spirit level

, etc.

2. Manpower & Work Planning

Supervise erection team including

riggers, welders, fitters, and crane operators

. Prepare daily work plans and allocate manpower accordingly. Monitor productivity and ensure timely project progress.

3. Lifting & Rigging Coordination

Coordinate lifting operations with crane operators as per lifting plans. Ensure inspection of lifting tools, slings, shackles, and equipment. Maintain strict compliance with

safety standards during heavy lifts

.

4. Quality Assurance & Documentation

Verify that steel components are erected as per IFC drawings. Conduct bolt tightening inspection (torque checks). Ensure welding quality and fit-up accuracy. Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, and inspection requests (IRs).

5. Drawing Interpretation

Read and interpret

structural GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings

. Identify discrepancies and raise technical queries (RFIs).

6. Coordination

Coordinate with: Project Manager QA/QC Team Safety Department Client/Consultant Fabrication Yard Attend site meetings and report progress/issues.

7. Safety Compliance

Ensure implementation of

HSE procedures

on site. Monitor safe erection practices (working at heights, scaffolding, lifting). Conduct toolbox talks before starting work.

Qualifications & ExperienceEducation

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

3-7 years of proven experience in steel structure erection

(Mandatory). Experience in industrial projects such as: Factories Warehouses Oil & Gas structures High-rise steel buildings PEB structures Power plants Must have experience working in

Saudi Arabia

(preferred).

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of steel erection processes & site execution. Understanding of welding, bolting, and alignment standards. Ability to read engineering drawings. Good command of lifting plans and rigging activities. Proficient in MS Office and basic project reporting tools.

Soft Skills

Strong leadership and team coordination. Good communication with multi-national workforce. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Problem-solving and site-based decision-making.

Additional Requirements

Must be available in Saudi Arabia OR willing to relocate. Transferable

Iqama

preferred. Valid Saudi driving license is an advantage.
