Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Site Architect to join our dynamic team. The Site Architect will be the key liaison between the design office and the construction site, ensuring that the architectural design intent is executed with precision and quality. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong technical knowledge, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage on-site challenges effectively. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the architectural aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Interpretation & Implementation:

  • Review and thoroughly understand all architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Translate design plans into actionable instructions for the construction team.
  • Ensure the project is built according to the approved design intent and quality standards.
2. On-Site Supervision & Quality Control:
  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor work progress, quality of materials, and workmanship.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies between the design drawings and the actual construction.
  • Ensure all architectural elements are constructed in compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Perform quality checks for finishes, dimensions, and material installations.
3. Coordination & Communication:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all architectural matters on site.
  • Coordinate effectively with the Project Manager, contractors, subcontractors, engineers (structural, MEP), and interior designers.
  • Lead and document regular site meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the design team in the head office and the construction team on site.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily logs, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
  • Process and review Requests for Information (RFIs) and Shop Drawings from contractors.
  • Track and document any variations or changes from the original design, preparing necessary sketches (AS-BUILT) and reports for approval.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports for clients and senior management.
5. Problem-Solving & Technical Support:
  • Provide real-time technical advice and solutions to construction-related problems.
  • Evaluate proposed substitutions for materials or methods and make recommendations to the design team.
  • Anticipate potential construction issues and propose preventive measures.
6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the construction site.
  • Ensure that all architectural work is carried out in accordance with project HSE plans and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Certification: Professional licensure/registration (e.g., RA in the US, RIBA in the UK, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software is essential.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.
  • Competency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
  • Soft Skills:

  • Must be able to walk the site extensively, climb ladders, and navigate unfinished structures.
  • May require working outside in various weather conditions.
  • Standard working hours are expected, but flexibility is required to address critical site issues, which may involve early mornings, late evenings, or occasional weekends.
