A leading seaport company is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious

Signalman

to support vessel operations. The Signalman will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient lifting of cargo, with a focus on heavy lift and oversized cargo handling.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all cargo, especially

heavy lift cargo

, is properly secured and lashed before any lifting operations commence. Provide accurate and clear hand signals to crane operators and rigging crews to coordinate safe cargo movement. Conduct visual checks on lifting gears and ensure correct application of

shackles, spreader beams, lifting belts

, and other lifting accessories. Verify lifting equipment is in good condition and suitable for the specific cargo weight and type. Report any unsafe conditions or non-compliance issues to the supervisor immediately. Assist in the positioning and guidance of lifting operations during vessel loading and discharging.

Requirements:

Minimum

3 years' experience

in vessel operations at a cargo or container terminal. Sound technical knowledge of lifting gears, rigging techniques, and signal communication protocols. Familiarity with various types of shackles, spreader beams, lifting slings, and belts. Valid and relevant

rigging or signalman training certificates

(preferred). Strong understanding of port safety protocols and cargo handling standards. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, including night shifts and weekends.
