Sign Fabricator Job Requirements

Experience and Skills:

Proven experience in signage fabrication, including working with a variety of materials such as metal, acrylic, vinyl, wood, and foam. Proficiency in using fabrication tools and equipment, such as CNC machines, laser cutters, welding equipment, and hand tools. Strong knowledge of sign-making techniques, including cutting, shaping, painting, and finishing. Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW) to assist in design adjustments or creating artwork for signs.

Attention to Detail:

Ability to interpret design specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately. Meticulous in ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and consistent finishing standards.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment. Comfortable working with various tools and machinery. Ability to stand for extended periods and handle manual labor.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues and find solutions to meet client requirements and deadlines.

Time Management:

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet project deadlines. Efficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Communication:

Strong communication skills to collaborate with designers, project managers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met. Ability to clearly document and communicate work progress and challenges.

Safety Awareness:

Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to signage fabrication and shop environments. Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training in sign making or related fields is a plus. Certification or training in welding, carpentry, or CNC operation is an advantage.

Experience with Installation (Optional):

Experience in the installation of signage at various locations (e.g., buildings, storefronts, events) is a plus.

Driving License (Optional):

A valid driver's license may be required for job-related travel or installation tasks.
