Description

Our client is expanding their nursing team for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Here they take care of critically ill patients who are in need of or are recovering from a surgery.

Unlike other departments, at ICU nurses work with unstable patients that most often face life-threatening conditions. A patient is considered unstable when their respiratory or cardiovascular systems require constant monitoring due to their weak state. Though the daily tasks mostly remain the same for nurses, each day is unpredictable and can result in an ICU intervention in case the patient\xe2\x80\x99s body system abruptly stops.

Your main tasks:

• Monitor exact, detailed reports and records of the critical ICU patient; .
• Monitor and record symptoms and changes in patients\xe2\x80\x99 conditions and information to the physician;
• Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostics tests to identify and assess the patient\xe2\x80\x99s condition;
• Carefully observe and document patient medical information and vital signs;
• Document patients\xe2\x80\x99 treatment plans, interventions, outcomes, or plan revisions;
• Consult and coordinate with health care team members about whole patient care plans;
• Monitor the critical patients for changes in status and indications of conditions such as sepsis or shock and institute appropriate interventions;
• Administering intravenous fluids and medications as per doctor\xe2\x80\x99s order;
• Monitor patients\xe2\x80\x99 fluid intake and output to detect emerging problems such as fluid and electrolyte imbalances;
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity;
• Treating wounds and providing advanced life support;
• Assist physicians with procedures such as bronchoscopy, endoscopy, endotracheal intubation, and elective cardioversion;
• Ensuring that ventilators, monitors, and other types of medical equipment function properly;
• Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team;
• Assess patients\xe2\x80\x99 pain levels and sedation requirements;
• Responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment.

• Experience in ICU or SICU, in similar role;
• Home country nursing license and eligible for MOH Kuwait license;
• Willing to relocate to Kuwait.
