Purpose and Scope of the Job
The Shifa Lite Coordinator ensures clients receive nutritionally balanced, medically appropriate meals through the meal plan subscription by overseeing menu planning, providing nutrition guidance, and coordinating with food service teams to support healthy lifestyle outcomes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards
1 Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for Shifa Lite clients in order to identify medical conditions, dietary requirements, lifestyle factors, and personal health goals, ensuring all assessments are documented according to hospital standards.
2 Prescribe and review individualized meal plans that align with clients medical needs, nutritional requirements, and food preferences, in accordance with evidence-based dietetic practice.
3 Provide clear and accurate education to clients regarding the Shifa Lite meal subscription service, including explanation of program structure, menu options, delivery schedules, and terms & conditions, to ensure informed enrollment and compliance.
4 Coordinate closely with kitchen, chef and catering teams to ensure the accurate preparation, portioning, and delivery of prescribed meals as per approved nutritional plans and quality standards.
5 Monitor the nutritional quality, of meals on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with catering standards.
6 Collect, review, and analyze client feedback and satisfaction data to evaluate service quality.
7 Manage client inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues when necessary in accordance with hospital policies and patient service protocols.
8 Participate actively in the development, review, and standardization of Shifa Lite menus, including recipe tasting, and accurate calorie calculations.
9 Manage client subscription renewals on the system, coordinate menu selection in accordance with approved nutritional plans, and ensure accurate and timely data entry of all client, menu, and subscription information into the designated systems.
10 Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential client records, including nutritional assessments, meal plans, and subscription details, in compliance with hospital documentation and data protection policies.
11 Assists in establishing an efficiency food delivery system to the patients
12 Actively contribute to Shifa Lite's catering meal service, ensuring that patients receive home-delivered meal boxes tailored to their individual nutritional needs and goals.
13 Coordinates with chefs and kitchen dietitians to prepare meals, with special attention to patients with food allergies or medical conditions.
14 Engage in educational programs within the Dietary Department, the Hospital, and the broader community, such as workshops and conferences.
15 Participates in designing, preparing, and executing the department's policy, marketing plan, and annual operational plans, ensuring their successful implementation throughout the year.
16 Coordinate with internal stakeholders e.g. marketing, customer services to address operational issues
17 Ensure safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
18 Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Reporting Authority.
19 Ensure quality and patient safety practices are followed.
20 Provides or promotes people centered care.
21 Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
