Description

As a Service Owner of the Servers Platform you will be managing diverse teams responsible for the planning, design and implementation of the Bank's infrastructure services related to Servers (Unix & Windows), as well as providing architecture consultation from domains to the existing and new projects within the Bank.Responsibilities involve the daily operational maintenance and support, environment change control, and proactive/preventative analysis of systems. Performs systems operations and analysis across complex hosted environments including shared and clustered environments and providing consultation to other teams.Generic AccountabilityManage, oversee and lead a team of system engineers that deliver operating systems support services to technology and business teams across our organization.Ensuring the servers are compliant to organization standards, meets the compliance policies set by the organization.Collaborate with different hardware and software vendors to address company business and technical requirements.Conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) tests to ensure vendor solutions meet the organizations requirementsProvide support from server platform side to the various project teams, to ensure that projects are executed within their deadlines, and integrated into company IT systems without affecting services.Define the long-term technical strategy and architecture vision for Infrastructure & Security domainsParticipate in all Change Management processes including risk assessment and procedural development and reviewSpecific AccountabilityDesign, build, implement and support robust system as per the agreed design/solutionAlign organizational security strategy and infrastructure with overall business and technology strategyPartner closely with GSO, support and Risk teams to build systemic process that help maintain systems desired state and enforce compliance. Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emergelead Operations teams to automate daily task through different tool and scripting. This will also include monitoring the reduction of manual tickets.Work with cloud/Infra architects to help Plan, build, integrate, administer, and support on-prem and multiple cloud-based platforms for Linux/Wintel servers.Monitoring, maintenance and support of Unix/Windows servers ensuring that global standards are maintained.develop and lead the team implementing an automation strategy for Bank's infrastructureQualificationsMinimum QualificationBachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent degreeExpert-level industry or vendors certifications are desiredMinimum Experience10+ years of Unix/Windows servers administration experience in mission critical environments with atleast 5 years in a supervisory/management roleStrong management and leadership skillsExperience with hardware platforms that include HP, Dell, IBM, and Oracle.Subject Matter Expert with Linux,UNIX or Windows server operating systems.Experience with Virtualization technologies.Ability to clearly present technical approaches and findings in oral and written formats.Required to develop and oversee Disaster Recovery planning and smoke tests exercises.Deploying Patch Management activities, and overseeing reports.Provide leadership and technical directions to a team of systems administrators.Self-motivated and directed with the ability to perform without appreciable direction.Ensure servers are secured per the approved requirements, and have approved security applications installed.Assign appropriate staff and respond to all audit activities.Experience with network infrastructure in UNIX / Linux or Windows servers environment.Extensive technical expertise with other related disciplines and infrastructures.Knowledge of data center infrastructures.Proven ability to lead a team in a complex, customer-driven environment.Plan, organize, coordinate, assign, and monitor all aspects of a technical team, and redirect efforts as needed to meet operational and project requirements.Serve as technical lead, escalation point, and coordinate resources to ensure critical incident tickets are worked and resolved per SLA requirements.Experience developing technical solutions to complex problems that require the use of ingenuity and creativity. Comfortable with ambiguity as needs change on a regular basis with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgencyResults oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action.Working knowledge of the ITIL or similar ITSM FrameworkMust have the ability to make solid business decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentMust display confidence in critical situationsTeam player with excellent consultative and communication skills and the proven ability to work effectively with internal and external clients, vendors and consultantsStrongly preferred experience: working with Banks and other financial institutions, federal agencies
