Service Crew
Position: Service Crew
Department: Food & Beverage Service / Front-of-House
Reports to: Restaurant Supervisor / Manager
Level: Entry-Level / Operational
1. Job Purpose (Summary)
The Service Crew is the face of the establishment, responsible for delivering a positive and memorable customer experience. This multi-faceted role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, handling payments, and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area, ensuring smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Interaction:

  • Greet customers warmly, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and professional service at all times.
  • Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods knowledgeably.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them clearly to the kitchen and bar.
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns with patience and escalate to a supervisor when necessary.
Food & Beverage Service:
  • Serve food and drinks to guests in a timely and orderly manner.
  • Ensure all orders are correct and presented according to establishment standards.
  • Perform table-side services such as refilling water glasses, clearing finished plates, and checking on customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages, coffee, and tea.
Operational Duties:
  • Process customer payments using cash registers or Point-of-Sale (POS) systems accurately.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, service stations, and restrooms.
  • Set up and break down dining areas before and after service.
  • Restock service stations with napkins, cutlery, condiments, and other necessary supplies.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures.
Teamwork & Compliance:
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other service crew members.
  • Adhere to all company policies, health codes, and safety standards.
3. Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or restaurant role is beneficial but not mandatory. Training will be provided.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during busy periods.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and giving change.
  • Physical ability to stand for long hours and carry trays.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
