Job Description

Plan, direct and lead the strategy and operational performance of Emirates Group Security, ensuring sound policies and practices are implemented across security functions across the Emirates Group in line with the Group's values, regulatory requirements and international best practice. Lead the delivery of a cost effective security operation within budget and at the same time make a positive financial contribution to the Group through the provision of security services to third parties.
- Lead the creation and implementation of Group-wide (EK, dnata Dubai and international) security policies designed to meet and exceed industry and international standards without compromising the day-to-day operations of the airline and related businesses, or impeding the overall passenger experience. Ensure security policies, procedures and guidelines support and encourage a strong security culture across the Group in compliance with the requirements of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), other appropriate authorities and relevant certification bodies.
- Develop and implement Group-wide security risk identification and management strategies ensuring a comprehensive program which enables the Group to recognize, examine and manage sources of risk, train employees and reduce exposure, including to acts of unlawful interference. Advise Group senior management as necessary, report matters of concern and recommend appropriate action. This includes effective threat and risk assessment of any new business undertaking for EK Group in relation to aviation security and to lead the development, implementation and administration of organization-wide security management
- Ensure appropriate contingency and crisis management plans are in place and all stakeholders are kept up-to-date on roles, responsibilities and action plans. Periodically test and assess the Group's security response plans to ensure the Group is well prepared and can respond effectively.
- Develop and maintain strong working partnerships with key external stakeholders including but not limited to, the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO), International Airline Transport Association (IATA), Dubai Police, Customs Trade Partners against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and the Network Control Centre, to resolve any security threat situation and ensure smooth and continuous operation.
- Oversee the risk assessment security plans for all new facilities and the EK Group operation globally and regularly review existing ones to ensure fit for purpose. Ensure that security solutions are appropriately integrated to allow for ease of administration, maintenance and expansion e.g. access control systems, visitor management systems, digitization of CCTV systems.
- Direct and lead the Airport Security Unit to deliver an airport security function that supports the prevention of illegal travel/immigration, document forgery, or any other security risk to the company.
- Direct and manage security training network wide for EK Operation and to dnata international companies in accordance with the requirements outlined under the National Civil Aviation Security Program (NCASP) General Civil Aviation of UAE, ICAO Annex 17 & Doc 8973, relevant security regulatory bodies and business requirements. Work to ensure that all syllabi are appropriately accredited and promote security education through the continuous learning process, engaging and negotiating with external providers to ensure quality service delivery..
- Ensure serviceability of the building management system, in liaison with facilities, to support the valuable handling center and security vaults for all valuable shipments coming in and out of Dubai, cash management and processing center, and office management systems including management of space occupied and / or rented by Transguard rental tenants..
- Lead and promote awareness on quality for Group Security and Transguard through an integrated approach to Total Quality Management and continuous improvement by applying tools which are in sync with the criterions of Dubai Quality Award (DQA) and Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA). Leadthe organization towards quality and aviation security related accreditation including ISO 9001, ISO 2800, TAPA (Transported Assets Protection Association)
- Effectively manage allocated Group Security budgets and third party commercial undertakings in relation to the provision of aviation security services, general security and consultancy, training, security escorts etc., ensuring the achievement of annual revenue targets.

Qualifications:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
- Post Graduate Qualification preferred
- Must be qualified as ICAO AVSEC Professional Manager

Experience:
- 15+ years experience in aviation security at a managerial level

Knowledge/skills:
- Knowledge of aviation security standards and industry international bestpractice.
- Knowledge of Quality Control Programme of IATA.
- Ability to build and managed networks and professional relationships with air carriers, aviation organisations/associations and government functions
- Ability to make quick decision as well as proper risk assessment and threat analysis in critical situations.
