Job SummaryAbout the Role:Actively involved in the conceptional and technical implementation of platform-based services and applications within the U+P business line in AECOM MEWork closely with Director - Urbanism +Planning to grow AECOM ME's capabilities in incorporating urban data analytics and other related technologies in existing workflows of project deliveryDevelop mathematical and statistical models to analyse data in a data science context, which can be applied to urban planning & design projectsInterpret data and report conclusions from conducted analysis to support the statistical evaluations, which can help support and improve decision-making for urban planning & design projectsCondense and encapsulate data characteristics, making it easier to identify risks, analyse trends, and drive effective decision-making, present findings and data insights in creative ways to facilitate the understanding of data across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.Generate data visualisation, reports, converts or transfers data using GIS software and scripting languages.Have a strong base in platform design process and execution, including a speciality instatistical analysis and interpretation of dataInterest in planning and policy research and the ability to blend qualitative and quantitative analyses to provide support for the use of existing statistical research methods and tools and configure these methods within a known contextReview urban growth models and codecreate a parametric urban design to create an advanced urban simulationContribute to the design of databases or development of geodatabases and systems, as well as compile and analyses GIS dataExcellent recordkeeping, as well as written, graphical, and verbal communication skillsAbility to stay organised while balancing multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyAdvanced ability to recommend and implement technical recommendations for cross-functional business developmentTechnical/ Functional Competencies:Data Science and Analysis CapabilitiesSoftware ProgrammingData VisualizationUrban Design and Planning thinkingSoftware: ArcGIS/ QGIS, Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, Rhino/ Grasshopper, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft Excel (Advanced)Programming Languages: Python, JavaScript, HTML, Ruby, R Programming, SQL and be ready to adapt to new onesMinimum RequirementsExperience:A minimum of six years of experience in either public sector or private, ideally in the field of urban design and planning in appliedExperience in three or more of the following areas (required):Spatial Analysis using ArcGIS or QGISData VisualizationUnderstanding of FIWARECommand of Software Architecture (Micro Service Architecture, APIS, OGC Services etc.)Generative Massing & Simulation AnalysisExperience working with urban tech service providers, IoT devices, or application development technology alliances is advantageousExperience in collaborating with clients, internal teams, and engineering disciplines on high-profile international urban development projectsPrior experience in successfully managing a small teamPreferred QualificationsEducation:A Master's degree, preferably in Spatial Data Science/ Geoinformatics, Urban Planning/ Spatial Developmental Studies or another relevant field, or compensating experience in appropriate, technical fields with a background in Urban Planning or DesignWhat We OfferWe will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options.
