Job Description

Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is currently inviting applications of Senior Telecommunication Designers with experience in oil and gas engineering for our Engineering team in Abu Dhabi

Below are some key responsibilities and duties:

+ Assist the lead designer in Telecom design activities by timely developing the drawings as per project and company quality standards

+ Ability to Analyze and understand Client requirements

+ Ability to develop Bills of Materials

+ PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling or 2D Drafting

+ Knowledge of CCTV, PID, PAGA, Radio, LAN, TETRA, Access Control etc. systems generally incorporated in major Brownfield oil / gas onshore / offshore projects

+ Preparation of CCTV, PID, PAGA, Radio, LAN, TETRA, Access Control block diagrams

+ Preparation of detail engineering documents like Architecture Diagrams, Block / Schematic Diagrams, Datasheets, GA drawings etc

+ Preparation of Bill of Material, Installation drawings, Tie-in / Interface Diagram, Equipment Layout

+ Drawing, cable routing and Cable Schedule

+ Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management

+ Coordinate within members of discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors etc

+ Participate in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned and close-out

+ Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects

+ Should be able to add value plus / optimization ideas

+ Diploma or Degree in Telecom or Electronics and Communication

+ In-depth knowledge of design tools - AutoCAD / Micro station PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling software experience

+ Ability to organize and set priorities, communicate and present effectively

+ Ability to report in in English, both verbal & in writing

+ Proactive attitude

+ 10+ years' experience in Telecom design, minimum 5+ Years Engineering consultancy
