Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is a luxurious beachside resort located on the west crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The interior of the resort is inspired by the ancient palaces of Turkey and features hand-painted finishings, Turkish artworks and stunning murals inspired by the Golden Age of the Ottoman Empire. About the Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technician in the Engineering Department at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

• Attend breakdowns, carry out diagnosis of faults and problems, work closely with Technicians in maintenance, repair, painting, or refurbishments as needed with minimal downtime to fix the issues
• Respond to work orders or room/site inspection and report any damage observed to the team leaders and propose resolution. Highlight problems outside remit and seek guidance and direction to resolve them
• Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales
• Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management. Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage
• Respond to all inquiries in a courteous and professional manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner
• Ensure all work is undertaken and performed to a high-quality standard
• Ensure that all planned maintenance and training documentation is kept up to date
• Ensure that store requisition and purchase request procedures are followed
• Assist in keeping utility costs to a minimum by ensuring that all equipment is operated at the optimum level for comfort and efficiency
• Assist in operating the department within the constraints of the business plan or as directed by the reporting manager
• Complete work orders, PPMs, CWAs as directed along side with Technician and General Assistant. Carry out quality assurance spot checks on Technician and General Assistant work
• Supervise Collection of correct materials from engineering stores. Monitor logbooks and ensure all relevant entries are made and any necessary follow up works are completed promptly within the department and those in other departments as required
• Deputize for the Team Leaders in case of sickness or holiday as directed by the Technical Supervisors/Engineering Managers
• Organise work and equipment\'s in a skilled and professional manner along side with technician where needed
• Ensure adherence to safe working conditions and highlight any issues that may lead to unsafe working conditions
• Ensures that all the operating equipment and necessary materials are available and clean prior to the commencement of service
• Ensure that high standard of personal hygiene and grooming are strictly observed and followed
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals, guide and supervise general assistant where necessary
• Attend all training sessions and meetings on a consistent and regular basis
• Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management and reporting manager
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions enabling delivery of luxurious service to guests and in line with Jumeirah standard of excellence
• Ensure safe working environment exists for self and colleagues and promote adherence to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment procedures, instructions, and controls and local regulations.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• A bachelor\'s degree in engineering or a related field
• A minimum 4 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hospitality or similar environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems HVAC systems, boilers, elevators, fire alarm systems, and water treatment systems.
