KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Efficiently troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment and systems in the power plant. Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance repairs with minimal supervision, including on-call duties, to restore electrical systems quickly. Assess the technical nature of assigned jobs, understanding relevant methods, procedures, and risks; select appropriate tools and equipment safely and effectively. Conduct maintenance in accordance with EHS standards and plant requirements to minimize workplace accidents. Use the computerized maintenance system to manage spare parts and record maintenance activities. Monitor recurring breakdowns, propose, and implement solutions to prevent future issues. Provide on-job training to new craftsmen and supervise contract workers to ensure they can perform maintenance tasks effectively. Read and interpret drawings, troubleshoot, test, and diagnose failures, and carry out repairs and calibrations within specified timeframes. Identify hazards related to High Voltage equipment and perform maintenance safely per EGA safety regulations and procedures. Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety procedures and operational requirements. If authorized, act as a Permit to Work receiver as per safety rules for power and desalination plants. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Minimum Qualifications: BacheloraEUR(TM)s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. For Degree holders: 3 yearsaEUR(TM) experience in a similar role within power plants or electrical substations. For Diploma holders: 5 yearsaEUR(TM) experience in similar environments. Hands-on experience with generators, switchgear, transformers, and electrical schematics. Experience working in high voltage electrical environments in power plants or heavy industrial plants. Skills: Proficiency with electrical maintenance tools. Knowledge of generators, transformers, switchgear, and electrical schemes. Good command of English (reading, writing, speaking). Strong interpersonal and assertive communication skills. Ability to work in a team, including shift work. Self-motivated and dedicated, capable of working in a multicultural environment. Knowledge of advanced protection relay testing, metering, and high voltage testing equipment. Experience with computerized maintenance systems, spare parts ordering, and record-keeping.
