Summary The Senior Technical Application Engineer - DCS Cyber Security provides Automation & Control Engineering Solutions for DCS from Transmission to Distributions including industries as per customer specification / requirement and internal standards.



Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide application support for basic & detailed DCS design for all applications involving switchyard and generator circuits; Initiate technical discussion and obtain customer approval on DCS products & solutions; Deliver quality on-time configuration, application support for other teams during tendering, engineering, FAT and commissioning phases.
• Positioning and Promoting Grid Automation Cyber Security offering and solutions in line with Grid Automation Strategy and according to the market requirement.
• Work closely with various regulatory bodies in the region, representing Grid Automation and contribute in shaping up cyber securing guidelines & features.
• Responsible for supporting sales and tendering team in making technical offer for the cybersecurity requirement and validating the technical offer.
• Provide feedback to the Product Line on products gaps and features needed in the GE offering to meet and exceed market expectations
• Interact with external agencies to facilitate the compliances to cybersecurity related certifications.
• Provide technical support to clients in the region e.g. technical queries, developing customized solutions, supporting scheme engineering, analyzing field performance etc.
• Technical Marketing, creation of opportunities based on installed base, and market information.
• Key role in product launches, presentations, discussions, spec-in activities, exhibitions, site trials etc. through Marketing. Implement actions necessary for product approvals based on regional strategy and priorities
• Improve awareness of GA solutions. Obtain competitor data, market share, volume etc. Track evolving customer specifications & requirements.
• DCS Engineering support (L2) for Automation projects
• Technical support to tendering team. Study of Specification / Technical inputs. Prepare Compliance for complex projects. Evolve cost effective / optimized solutions.
• Application support for Technical Design & Project Database configurations related to DCS & Cyber Security systems.
• L2 support for application queries related to our RTU, Gateways, Switches, DCS systems.
• Responsible for approvals of DCS systems, Cyber Security solutions and other related PAC Products.
• Regional support to develop cybersecure network architectures primarily based on the principles set out in IEC 62443-3-3.
• Support Tendering teams during the bidding process for any cybersecurity related requirements from various customers. Knowledge of a range of Cybersecurity regulations such as EU NIS,NERC and BDES is essential
• Support to analyze and evaluate different cybersecurity solutions. able to justify solution/analysis/evaluation in front of a Customer and technical audience.
• Responsible for obsoletion plan discussion with customer, new product availability etc. and provide appropriate customer support in line with regional strategy. Keep track of firmware upgrades, changes in product features etc. and participate in necessary local actions.
• Continuous engagement with COE, R&D for NPI, enhancements & market strategy.
• OT Security Standards, Compliance, Risk Management, Incident response plan , Substation Automation, Communication Protocols (IEC 61850,Modbus, IEC103, IEC104), Networking concepts, Communication architecture, Database configuration.
• Responsible and accountable for DCS engineering deliverables including design documents, Systems database, commissioning and snag clearance and autonomously perform System database configuration
• Responsible to follow engineering process and Project deliverables in line with project plan.
• Ensure Quality of DCS System Architecture, System description, Hardware specification, Datalist, HMI views and Database delivered to Customers
• Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team to specify, design and test the project, whilst meeting the required technical standards.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline
• 6-8 years of relevant Substation Automation experience in IEC61850 and other standard protocols
• Cyber Security Certifications related to OT security
• Good Knowledge of Power System & Primary Equipment, Protection concepts , Product (Protection IEDs).
• In-depth background in configuring Substation Bay Controllers / Merging Units / IEC61850 IED\xe2\x80\x99s, extensive and demonstrable experience in control and protection system design, as well ad knowledge of industrial communication networks such as IEC61850 and Ethernet based protocols.
• Good understanding of Control & Protection Relay logics Design techniques
• Experienced in developing electrical designs for industrial control systems and knowledge of communication networks Security/Hardening and Cybersecurity best practices
• Excellent knowledge of commonly used Layer2&3 protocols such as Ipv4,OSPF,LACP,DMZ,VPN/ DMS/ADMS/ DNP, IEC, Modbus
• Experience relevant to electrical power systems and Substation automation engineering and working knowledge of industrial and utility electrical control and protection systems and Digital Control Systems, Substation Automation and SCADA, Third party IED integration, Testing, Validation & Commissioning of SAS Systems
• Good Knowledge on Cyber Security Standards \xe2\x80\x93 IEC62443, IEC62351, IEEE1686, NERC-CIP, ISO 27000 series, and experience on working with Firewalls like Fortinet and Intrusion detection systems like Nozomi, Radiflow.
• Experience on working with SNMP, AAA, RBAC, syslog, Network Access Control.
• Good understanding of Cyber Security Testing based on relevant standards, which include VAPT / Pen testing and good Understanding of Cyber Security Vulnerability Assessment
• Should have good knowledge on patch management services
• Good understanding of protection engineering principles and capable of providing optimum technical solution to the Project keeping in mind the Quality, Cost and delivery performance indicators.
