Job Description

  • Candidate shall be assigned to an integrated sustainability team for projects within the Middle East and Europe.

Reports Directly to:
Principal Consultant and/or Country Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Member of Sustainability team;
  • Manage the delivery of advisory assignments related to the strategic roll-out of a new sustainability program to be applied in one of the GCC markets. This includes technical, Business Strategies, Marketing, Regulatory and Compliance;
  • Lead the technical discussions about various sustainability topics with clients and provide necessary advise to secure compliance with the applicable green building rating systems such as (LEED, Estidama, BREEAM, Mostadam ,etc.);
  • Manage client’s relationships and ensure high quality in delivering contracted services of technical and strategic consultancy;
  • Delivery technical workshops and training courses in relation to a newly launched sustainability program and other various topics in the built environment;
  • Maintain direct control of timelines and budgets for different projects assigned to the consultant and other junior staff;
  • Develop technical and non-technical reports as per scopes of assigned projects and ensure high quality of deliverables;
  • Support the company in potential business growth by promoting Alpin’s services and being ready to communicate and network with new potential clients and contacts;
  • Coaching of junior staff;
  • Project Management and Project Accountability including projects of junior staff;
  • Participate as a team leader in carrying out specific global and local projects such as sustainable building projects, operational efficiency, etc.;
  • Quality control and review of reports;
  • Business Development Support;
  • Understand and implement the principles of project management (scheduling, resource leveling, effective meetings, client relations);
  • Site and Office Based Consultancy;
  • Manage the green building design and LEED/Estidama/QSAS documentation process as well as project specifications, calculations, plans and submittals for LEED/Estidama/QSAS compliance;
  • Coordinate with/support contractors including MEP/Civil engineers;
  • Conduct product and technology research related to sustainability;
  • Contributions to regional publications, lectures, teaching;
  • Personal development and plan to develop skills necessary for promotion to Principal Consultant.

HSE Roles, Responsibilities and Accountability:
  • In addition to your responsibility towards following ALPIN’s Integrated Management System, every employee at ALPIN is required to familiarize themselves with ALPIN’s Environmental Impact Assessment and contribute towards minimizing their individual environmental impact in the course of their work;
  • It is the duty of all employees to act within the legal responsibilities imposed upon them and the Company’s Quality, Environment and Health & Safety policies. All employees must familiarize themselves with the Company’s Integrated Management System’s policies and procedures.

Skills:
  • Willingness to travel regularly between UAE and KSA;
  • Willingness to potentially relocate in KSA or able to take 3 to 6 months mission of full time in KSA;
  • Has solid Client Relationship management skills and able to control project delivery and any expected challenges;
  • Has strong experience in Green Building industry in order to provide strategic consultancy to clients in relation to best practices and feasibility of pursuing certifications;
  • Has strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Bilingual in communication (written and verbal);
  • Has experience in delivering technical sustainability workshops in front of large audiences;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with both clients and consultants;
  • Have background within the built environment sector (3-6 years);
  • Working Knowledge of MEP, Construction Management and Design;
  • Demonstrated leadership experience;
  • Strong Knowledge of current sustainability standards: LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, QSAS, or Estidama;
  • LEED AP, PQP, Estidama, Green Star or BREEAM Accreditation;
  • 10+ years LEED experience;
  • Experience of managing projects independently;
  • Fluent / native English;
  • Willing to travel regularly;
  • Able to travel easily between UAE and KSA;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline (Environmental, Construction Management (PREFERRED), Mechanical Engineering (PREFERRED), Electrical Engineering (PREFERRED), or Architecture);
  • GCC experience;
  • Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment;
  • Extremely strong communication skills (Written, electronic & spoken)
Additional Experience/Certifications:
  • Solid engineering and project management skills (PMP);
  • Arabic language is a must;
  • Applicants who are already located in the KSA are Preferred;
  • Available at short notice (Preferred);
  • Saudi experience;
  • Local Driver’s license;
  • Passport which allows for efficient regional travel
