at ABL Group, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality marine surveying and consultancy services across the Energy team. You will be responsible for conducting a wide range of marine operations, surveys, and assurance tasks, while supporting business development and ensuring client satisfaction. This role requires a proactive, technically skilled professional with a strong understanding of offshore and marine operations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct marine surveys including vessel suitability, condition, and marine warranty surveys (towage, load-in/load-out, stowage, lashing, securing, etc.)
Attend rig moves, marine assurance, and other offshore operations as required
Support the preparation of tenders, proposals, and technical documentation
Ensure compliance with ABL Group's procedures, client requirements, and industry standards
Deliver high-quality reports and documentation within agreed timelines
Liaise with clients to ensure successful project execution and satisfaction
Manage project documentation and communicate key findings to stakeholders
Coordinate with contractors and oversee operations when necessary
Promote ABL Group's consulting services and support local business development
Contribute to marketing and visibility initiatives for the Energy business line
Uphold Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Master Mariner or Chief Officer with Master Mariner (STCW II/2) and relevant experience.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the marine/offshore industry
Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices
Excellent decision-making, analytical, and operational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Willingness to travel offshore and work across time zones
Desirable:
Previous shore-based experience in marine operations
Familiarity with rig moves and jack-up operations
Experience in marine warranty surveys, vessel inspections, and audits
