Job Purpose

Provide Structural design, engineering and project support, being Subject Matter Expert in the discipline to deliver Project and Business objective. Lead and develop Structural engineering standards, process, procedures and guidelines to ensure reliability and integrity of assets,

Principal Accountabilities

Supervision and Skill Pool Management
Plan, supervise and coordinate Structural Engineering discipline team, to meet all the
Functional objectives in line with project(s) and business objectives,
Recommend discipline specific competency profiles for the project(s) to ensure that the discipline is staffed to fully proficient standards,
Coach and mentor UAE Nationals and Graduate Engineers to bring them to operational level Engineers.
Policies, Processes, Systems, Procedures, and Controls
Support in developing Project specific Policies, Systems, Procedures and Controls for the Structural Engineering discipline.
Implement approved Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Project(s) or part of the projects.
Single Point Accountability & Technical Authority
Support the Principal Civil & Structural Engineer in undertaking Single Point Accountability and in his absence, assume relevant Technical Authority, when delegated, for:
Approval of deviations to Control Points in the discipline Standards and Procedures, Ensuring Quality Control and Sign - off at Stage Gate control points.
Providing assurance to the Board, GCEO and EXCOM on the discipline health in terms of competence, development and Image sizing\'.
Providing an independent view to ensure that targets and requirements set for the project or asset, will be met e.g. the relevant policies, procedures, processes and competencies are in place and complied with).
Technical Support & Specialist Consulting Studies
Provide Engineering & Technical support to Operation, Maintenance and EHS
Departments to ensure availability, operational readiness, reliability and integrity of Assets.
Provide technical expertise and support to project management activities through all phases of projects spanning engineering, procurement, construction, recommissioning, through hand-over of project facilities to the end users.
Lead Technical & Conceptual studies and Services through specialist Consultants to ensure all work activities are managed and carried out in accordance with contractual obligations.
Secure end-user requirements, project life cycle and EHS requirements within schedule and budget. Participate and ensure the preparation of Statement of Requirements (SOR) and/or Scope of Work (SOW) for all projects.
Maintain smooth Engineering interfaces with all other Disciplines in order to ensure availability, operational readiness, reliability and integrity of Assets,
Discipline Specific, Design & Inter-Disciplinary Check
Lead conceptual, FEED and Detail design of Structural Engineering, meeting design intent, ensuring compliance to safety, integrity, sustainability practices and statutory requirements.
Review and /or Develop designs in accordance to British, UAE and American standards pertaining to Structural Design, Fabrication/construction, Inspection, Testing & Installation practices.
Review and /or Develop Structural designs of Foundations, Sub-Structures and Super Structures in Buildings, Infrastructure, Industrial and Specialist structures associated with Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industry.
Ensure review process is in line with Stage Gate project life cycle processes.
Lead Structural Engineering by approving Design, Calculations, Analysis, Engineering Specifications & Data sheets, Collection of input data from Site/Operations.

Additional Principal Accountabilities

Undertake Pre-front-end-engineering-design (pre-FEED), Front-end- engineering design (FEED) and detailed engineering of component systems.
Develop/Review tender documents, specifications, datasheets, verification of FEED design and calculations for accuracy.
Lead, guide or develop Structural discipline deliverables such as Structural Designs, Drawings and Material Take-off.
Assessment and Approval of Technical Deviations, Technical Concession/waiver requests meeting work requirements & standards.
Oversee Engineering standard practices and Inter-Disciplinary Check

Experience

Minimum Requirements
Master\'s Degree in Structural Engineering and nine (9) years of experience in applying the discipline skills in the oil and gas industry,
Understanding of a wide variety of the discipline\'s concepts, practices, and procedures.
Strong leadership skills, analytical skills, and an awareness of business.
Proficient in office productivity tools such as the MS Office suite of products and Adobe Acrobat.
Advanced English language proficiency (IELTS score of 7 or above or a TOEFL score of
94 or above)
