is responsible for overseeing the design review, coordination, and construction supervision of wet utility networks, including potable water, storm water, sewerage, irrigation, and treated water systems. The role ensures technical compliance with project specifications, local authority standards, and safety regulations. The Senior Engineer leads technical coordination among design teams, stakeholders, and contractors, and supports quality assurance, progress tracking, and resolution of technical issues on site.
Key Job Duties:
Supervise and monitor the construction of wet utility networks, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and local authority requirements (e.g., ADSSC, TWS, TAQA).
Review shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and as-built drawings for all wet utility works.
Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities to ensure timely approvals and resolution of design-related issues.
Inspect installation of pipelines, chambers, valves, manholes, pumping stations, and associated civil works.
Ensure proper implementation of testing procedures (hydrostatic, leak tests, CCTV inspections, etc.) and review test reports.
Verify quantities and approve contractor's progress claims related to wet utilities.
Lead and document technical meetings, including interface coordination with other infrastructure systems (roads, dry utilities, structures).
Monitor HSE compliance during wet utility construction, particularly during excavation and trenching activities.
Identify and report any deviations from contract documents and propose appropriate corrective actions.
Provide input and support for variation orders, technical queries (TQ), and non-conformance reports (NCRs) related to wet utility works.
Coordinate with stakeholders to secure tie-in and handover approvals from concerned authorities.
Assist the Resident Engineer in preparing progress reports, risk registers, and maintaining quality and schedule control.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction supervision and management
Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects
Strong technical knowledge in civil engineering principles and practices
Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Experience with CAD software and project management tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management
In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and international construction standards
Familiarity with local construction regulations and practices in Dubai
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
