The Senior Specialist - Transportation Policies and Planning will be responsible for conducting technical analyses, managing policy studies, preparing transport policy reports, and contributing to the development of sustainable multimodal transport plans. The role requires expertise in transportation planning, policy formulation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, prepare, and present technical transportation policy information and reports
- Identify transportation issues and propose innovative policy solutions
- Prepare terms of reference and tender documents for transport policy studies
- Manage transport policy studies ensuring alignment with Dubai's strategic transport vision
- Conduct benchmarking studies on local and international transport policies
- Develop specialized studies on internal transport systems within Dubai and neighboring emirates
- Support the selection and evaluation of transport policies based on RTA strategies and objectives
- Contribute to updating Dubai's Sustainable Multimodal Transport System Plan
- Provide technical assistance to section management on policy development and legislative matters
- Analyze monitoring data from RTA entities regarding policy implementation and recommend corrective actions
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the direct manager
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Transportation Planning, or Urban Planning from a recognized university
- Master's Degree in Urban Planning or Transportation Planning preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 11 years of experience in transportation planning, transport policy development, or related fields
Skills:
- Strong expertise in transportation planning and modeling
- In-depth knowledge of transportation policies and strategic mobility frameworks
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to manage technical studies and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and technical presentation abilities
- Proficiency in transportation modeling software and data analysis tools
