JOB SUMMARY
The
Senior Specialist - EMR Change Services for SurgiNet
provides high quality support for various Sidra EMR applications by implementing new designs/changes/upgrades to the existing system. The Senior Specialist - works closely with the relevant departments to ensure that the system operates in an optimal and efficient manner at all times and that the system meets the requirements of the end-users, and provides specialist support for the supported applications as part of the overall support service.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Defines overall application functional/business requirements with clinical end users and recommends application modifications/configurations/processes for solutions to functional requirements.
The role will be responsible for supporting the Manager and Head of EMR Change Services in creating and maintaining an Engagement Plan for their respective areas of responsibility.
Works on annual objectives as established as part of the Annual Review process.
Implements, designs and/or applies upgrades to the assigned applications.
Creates test plans for projects.
Analyzes model test discrepancies to find trends and works with programmers to resolve.
Establishes cost and time estimates for development/implementation of projects.
Follows an AGILE process for the implementing changes.
Produces business process flow charts.
Understands and foresees implications of decisions.
Understands the core business process and purpose of the supported area.
Places issues in context of organizational and functional objectives
Utilizes in-depth knowledge to provide appropriate solutions.
Develops and applies project management techniques.
Builds deeper understanding of processes, procedures, customers and organization.
Supports business users in the analysis of requirements, process mapping, and the development of solution design specifications in accordance with organizational standards.
Contributes to all aspects of the application lifecycle including implementation planning, design, build, testing, maintenance, and support.
Extensive build experience that encompasses PowerChart related functions, i.e. powerforms, iView, orders, powerplans, interdisciplinary plans of care, EKM rules, discern alert rules, mPage components etc.
In addition, SurgiNet specific build experience, which includes but not limited to the below:
- Perioperative documentation
- SN Anesthesia tools and documentation
- SN Tracking Board
- Preference cards
- Supply Chain for SurgiNet
- SurgiNet Scheduling
- SugiNet viewpoints and mPages
- SN reports and SurgiNet related OpsJobs
Provides recommendations for improvements, enhancements and innovations in assigned areas to support high quality patient care, and research.
Responds to service requests and coordinate issue resolution.
Conducts job duties and responsibilities according to the organization's business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
Creates communication plans (correspondence, presentations, and other materials) for knowledge transfer to leadership.
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
Guides end users through complex application functionality.
Respond quickly and efficiently to any application related incident that is sent via help desk to the team in accordance to Sidra service/support model.
Enhances own knowledge through understanding trends and objectives.
Other Duties
The post requires a flexible approach to working hours. The position may necessitate some out of hours working, some or all of which may be dedicated to provide user support.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree In IT or a related field.
7+ years of working as Specialist in a healthcare setting or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Strong knowledge of system development methodology, project management, system architecture and analytical/problem solving skills.
Knowledge of academic hospital clinical principles and operational principles.
Experience supporting solutions in hospital environment.
Experience working and collaborating with Software support teams.
General Cerner Millennium module experience
