Build and execute a forward-looking impactful technology strategy and own/operate a portfolio of technology projects bringing tangible value to ADNOC: covering core aspects of Decarbonization by Electrification - with a strong basis in power electronics and electrical engineering including power generation, conversion, distribution and storage. With particular emphasis on fundamental battery technology, electric vehicle design, reuse and repurposing of various cell types, DC to AC conversation, transformer and inverter technology.
Knowledge or experience in Electrical aspects of facilities and large plant and equipment, and conventional or renewable energy systems is expected.
Duties include: create scopes of work and technical content, and provide technical authority for all shareholders, partners, technology developers and providers. Create and curate improvement plans for ADNOC R&D workflows / processes. Implement ADNOC Corporate technology strategies. Identify and own technical challenges and Technology Solution Strategies across Upstream business line; specifically focused on investment opportunities, cost and business impact. Manage Deployment projects; create and execute technology Pilots across portfolio; ensure systemic integration and wide deployment of research findings and qualified solutions, in order to support ADNOC\'s business growth and sustainability.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Research
Identify and screen technical challenges across the Upstream business lines with detailed analysis on investment required and business impact. Collate and curate these in a transparent prioritization, taking account of group Technology priorities and ADNOC\'s corporate Risk Assessment Matrix.
Develop Research and Technology Development proposals addressing Group Company technical challenges. Identify new business opportunities, in alignment with ADNOC Strategic Objectives.
Technically evaluate third-party, vendor and academic proposals in the domain of electrical and electronic technology and power storage and conversion
Evaluate potential partner technical capabilities, including academic institutions, shareholders, and service companies, to execute Technology activities/projects.
Manage the project portfolio to demonstrate value and assure anticipated Return-on-Investment (RoI).
Technically steer activities in collaboration with the discipline technical groups and stakeholders.
Manage the projects to ensure timely execution within the agreed scope and budget.
Maintain the team project management dashboard, smart objectives and clear KPIs.
Work with the Upstream directorates, Functions and Group Companies to ensure systematic Integration and deployment of findings and qualified solutions, and drive these into ADNOC\'s operations.
Organize, conduct and lead technical workshops that will elevate technical competence across the AGCs and nurture an innovation culture.
Technology
Develop technical content domain of electrical and electronic systems, and regularly update the technology road-map in collaboration with the relevant technical teams and stakeholders.
Scout for new and emerging technologies for improvements and availability
Act as ADNOC technology qualification authority for all shareholders, partners, Technology developers and providers related to materials, corrosion, well and facility integrity and continuous improvement
PhD scholars and Local Development Function
Technically Mentor ADNOC PhD scholar\'s progress as needed
Ensure technical alignment of ADNOC PhD scholars research work
Technically develop UAE nationals through coaching and shadowing programs
Attract young UAE nationals to participate in R&D activities
Business Development
Develop Technology and Energy Transition strategy to be embedded in the ADNOC Business plan.
Conduct projects business reviews, Net Present Value (NPV) and RoI analysis as requested.
Continuously review ADNOC workflows/processes and propose improvement plans.
Intellectual Property
Review patent and invention disclosure applications and ensure its technical soundness.
Review related publication authorization requests and ensure its technical soundness.
Asses the IP portfolio to demonstrate value, and potential for commercialization.
Others
Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Supervision
Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective business objectives.
Budgets
Provide input for preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Implement approved Function/ Division/ Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Design and implement new techniques to improve the quality/efficiency of operational processes.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor\'s Degree in in Electrical or Electronic engineering
Postgraduate degree to either Master\'s or Doctoral level in Electrical or Electronic engineering, or closely related discipline
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
10 years of experience in progressive research and development in the assigned discipline with global Oil & gas companies, associated energy service companies or Electrical engineering service providers.
Critical strategic thinker, ability to initiate, develop and implement new strategies and processes.
Thorough knowledge of Electrical power systems, both hardware and software
Some awareness of energy operations, engineering principles and project management.
Demonstrable experience in the development and application of new technologies related to the assigned discipline of in Electrical or Electronic engineering.
