Job Description

We have an urgent requirement for a Senior Security Solution Architect onsite a long-term contract for a major IT vendor in County Dublin, Ireland. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Security Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Security Solution Architect, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's information systems and infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust security solutions, providing guidance on security best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address security challenges. Responsibilities:
  • Develop Security Architecture: Design and develop comprehensive security architectures for our organization, including network security, data protection, application security, and cloud security. Ensure that the security architecture aligns with business goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Security Solution Design: Work closely with stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and senior management, to understand their security requirements and design effective security solutions. Analyse existing systems and infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate security controls.
  • Security Policy and Standards: Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and best practices. Stay updated on emerging security threats and technologies and incorporate them into the organization's security framework.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities. Develop mitigation strategies and implement security controls to minimize risks. Provide guidance and support to the incident response team during security incidents and breaches.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in security architecture and provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams. Collaborate with IT architects, developers, and engineers to integrate security controls into systems and applications throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Security Consultation and Training: Advise and consult with internal stakeholders on security-related matters. Conduct security training and awareness programs to educate employees on security best practices and promote a culture of security awareness.
  • Vendor and Technology Evaluation: Evaluate security vendors, products, and technologies to determine their suitability for the organization's security needs. Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with security requirements.
  • Security Governance: Participate in security governance activities, including security audits, assessments, and compliance reviews. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address security-related findings and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s or master?s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (X+ years) working as a security solution architect or a similar role in a complex IT environment.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
  • In-depth understanding of network security, cloud security, application security, and data protection.
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, identity and access management, encryption, etc.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and vulnerability assessments.
  • Experience in developing and implementing security policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and translate business requirements into effective security solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or SANS certifications are highly desirable.
