Job Description

Help AG is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Security Engineer (PaloAlto NGFW) who will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing advanced security solutions for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in network security, endpoint protection, and advanced traffic management, combined with a proactive approach to mitigating cyber threats.


As a Senior Security Engineer, you will work with cutting-edge technologies across a wide array of security domains, including Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), firewall management, VPNs, endpoint security, and traffic optimization systems. You will be responsible for safeguarding our infrastructure and ensuring the optimal performance of security systems to protect against emerging threats.

Responsibilities

Act as SME for in-scope technologies for Help AG customers. Design, deploy, operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot complex IP networks and interconnected network security technologies. Provide timely response to all incidents, outages, and performance alerts. Handle escalated incidents effectively. Collaborate with other technology support groups as part of problem resolution efforts. Support operational needs and ensure minimal downtime for critical services.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. In-depth knowledge of complex IP networks. At least 8+ years of industry experience in network/security engineering roles. Solid understanding of network security technologies, data center traffic flow, and advanced troubleshooting techniques Experience with many/all of the following security controls:
Next-Generation Firewalls ( PaloAlto)

Firewall Management & Log Analyzer Consoles (Panorama)

DDI (Infoblox)

F5 (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM)

VPN Technologies (Pulse Secure)

Endpoint Security (Trend Micro Deep Security)

IXIA Packet Broker & Bypass Switches

Demonstrable experience of working in high-pressure, customer facing environments. Network Operations/Security Operations experience is essential. Familiarity with ITIL processes such as change management, problem management, and incident management. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict SLAs. Sound understanding of common services (web, mail, FTP, DNS, etc.), network vulnerabilities, and network attack patterns. Self-motivated with a professional attitude. Excellent customer-facing skills. Strong communication and listening skills. Effective teambuilding, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of making informed decisions. Skilled in handling technical conflicts, organizational challenges, and implementation challenges. Proficient in technical problem-solving, system troubleshooting, and business writing. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced individual capable of delivering operational support and ensuring the reliability and security of critical network and security systems.
