Security Risk Management for this role involves the risk management part of threats and risks to our Port facilities either stemming from compliance requirements from the ISPS code or from threats such as theft, corruption, bribery, smuggling, violence, or geo-political instability. You will ensure that roles and responsibilities for Security is well defined in the terminals, that local physical security programs are relevant, has quality and deliver impact against the threats, and that our Duty of Care program is implemented and is functioning as expected. This role will require you to establish working relationships with local authorities and law enforcement to ensure a smooth collaboration before, during and after seizures of illegal cargo.

Reporting to the Head of Global Security you will be part of the Global Security team. With this role being based in the AoR you will be expected to work closely with the regional/area Leadership teams and the wider HSE, Security and Business Resilience (BR) community. In this role you will be the most senior security person in your region, and you are expected to work closely with your Security and HSSE counterparts responsible for the APMT facilities in helping them be successful.

You will have quite a broad job-scope, and your background does therefore not have to be one of policing or military services. It might not even be security as such but an understand of and experience with supply chain and logistics does feel relevant. Our internal upskilling program will make sure that we close off any knowledge gaps you might have in your security experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ISPS Compliance

Ensure that Terminal Security or HSSE Managers in RoR comply with the ISPS code and:

Establish a detection and deterrence system against security threats.

Establish and manage roles and responsibilities for security personnel and terminal staff.

Establish collection and exchange of security information with local authorities and Global Security.

Ensure that adequate security measures in place (physical security, plans, procedures and protocols).

Security Management:

Establish loss prevention and crime detection strategies within your region/areas, get management buy-in for these strategies and implement accordingly.

Establish respectful and relevant working relationships with senior leaders, key stakeholders, and regional government entities.

Conduct security risk assessments of crime trends and geo-political developments, of new business proposals and other potential business threats and risks.

Present findings and required mitigations to management for approval and implementation.

Maintain regional security related dashboards and reporting protocols.

Support the implementation of security related trainings and/or awareness material and take part in trainings and capacity building sessions as required.

Where agreed ensure employees from other non-integrated brands are fully incorporated into our duty of care initiatives and follow same standards (ref. commit Rule). Escalate to Head of Global Security if needed.

Duty of Care:

Ensure that our Duty of Care (DoC) Security program is introduced and implemented across the region.

That staff in higher risk countries/location are covered by our special security program.

Provide briefings to new staff and spouses in high-risk location.

Ensure that foreigners living in high-risk countries have residence security and journey management plans.

Loss Prevention in Supply Chain Logistics:

Promote and educate HSSE and Security staff in your region on our security risk management program as part of the company HSSE Management Framework.

Implement policies, templates, procedures, and guidelines for security measures related to our facilities (depots, terminals, warehouses etc. inside Terminals) making sure that they are adequately protected and in compliance with relevant regulations (C-TPAT, TAPA, AEO, etc.) - all with support from security at HQ.Perform all other tasks and/or projects as assigned by line manager or department head.

Your people skills are most important to us as we believe that almost anything else can be taught if you have the willingness to do so. We therefore expect from you that you are willing to learn and listen. We dont need you to be a superior expert in this field of work but we do need you to have previous management experience, the ability to acuminate new information, plan for execution and then deliver.

Qualifications:

You must have high moral and ethical standards since we are in the business of doing things right. This means that you must be able to reflect our values and especially that of people and constant care.

You might have completed a bachelor's or master's degree education in international studies, security management, business administration or similar from a well-established educational faculty (desirable).

Prior Leadership/management experience as you will lead and guide security and HSSE managers without them necessarily reporting to you directly.

ISPS/PFSO Certification from acknowledge learning institute.

As we are a people driven, we need you to be able to establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders and gatekeepers in your region by having them trust in your ability to deliver relevant security. This requires that you can communicate in English at all levels, both verbally and in writing.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior work in and around a port facility would be a great advantage.

Good understanding of the geo-political risks, challenges, and opportunities in the region.

Demonstrated strong networking and interpersonal skills, as well as professionalism to deal with all levels of staff.

Experience with illegal cargo, counterfeit, and smuggling (desirable).

SKILLS:

You have great interpersonal and collaboration skills, and a proven ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Capable of working in a fast-paced environment where standardization, minimum requirements, and task execution matters.

Dont be scared but data is important to us (incident data, etc.) so you must feel comfortable in using number and occurrences to find patterns, measure impact and quality, as well as work progress.
