Flexible packaging segment has a turnover of ? 1,558 million (2022). The business has today about 8,400 employees and has 26 manufacturing sites across 16 countries.
Today, a large part of flexible food packaging is non-recyclable. Huhtamaki has a new product line that offers customers the possibility of shifting from these non-recyclable, multi-layer solutions to recyclable mono-material solutions, without compromising the functionality of the packaging.
SENIOR SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER, UAE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Sales and Marketing Manager to lead our commercial team in UAE. The role is responsible for sustainable and profitable sales growth in the market in close cooperation with the Global Category and Key Account teams.
The role reports to General Manager, UAE & Egypt, Flexible Packaging and is based in Dubai, UAE.
Key responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to drive and manage our Flexible Packaging sales in the market with full accountability on sales and product portfolio performance. The position holder creates, manages, and implements plans and leads the organization to deliver commercial and financial targets.
  • Establishing and implementing a mid-term commercial strategy and plan designed to maximize growth and profitability in the market in alignment with group and segment strategic goals
  • Maintaining effective market insight to ensure market protection, sustainable innovation and growth and improved performance for Huhtamaki
  • Ensuring high touch Key Account Management and customer relationships both with global and local accounts
  • Tender and price management with local and regional accounts
  • New business acquisition in the market
  • Promoting innovation and development of new products and business areas
  • Driving and executing local marketing activities, in collaboration with global and segment teams
  • Enabling and driving demand plans and forecast as part of Sales & Operations Planning Process
  • Ensuring efficient processes to control trade receivables
  • Providing leadership to the commercial team, ensuring appropriate resourcing, processes and high-performance culture grounded in the company values Care, Dare and Deliver
  • Ensuring sustainable talent supply, development, and engagement
  • Encouraging an environment of continuous improvement and embracing Huhtamaki processes such as Commercial Excellence, as well as exchanging ideas and best practices with other markets
  • Working closely with all functional stakeholders (operations, commercial excellence, finance) to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and Huhtamaki
  • Leading, growing and developing a sales team over 10 people across multiple locations, challenging and driving them for change
    Key success factors and qualifications
    This role requires both commercial excellence as well as strong leadership and change management skills. The role works closely with the leaders in the business units, and in close collaboration with segment and Group functions to achieve our strategic goals.
    • Extensive experience in packaging or similar industry in a commercial capacity, preferably experience in Flexible Packaging companies, good understanding of the local market
    • Proven track record of achieving results and delivering profitable sales growth in a multi category business with turnover >EUR 100M
    • Track record of driving change in organization, challenging status quo
    • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex product portfolio and international customer relationships
    • Experience in developing business in mature markets as well as driving new business areas
    • Proven track record of leading and engaging people and developing high-performance teams
    • International experience
    • High energy, drive, improvement mindset and ambition
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to see the big picture while also analyzing data and details supporting decisions
    • Demonstrated influencing and negotiating skills
    • Ability to work in structured and systematic manner, with clear plans and options
    • Ability to build effective relationships with strong stakeholder management skills
    • Experience in implementing sustainable strategies leading to improved organizational performance
