Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Safety / Loss Prevention Engineer to work as part of their Engineering Group. He/she will be reporting to DPE Lead Technical Safety Engineer for a nominal period of 6 months.
Experience Profile:
Experience Profile:
Senior Safety / Loss Prevention Engineer with minimum of 5+ years Loss Prevention experience with specific aptitude in firewater system design and hydraulics (Pipenet)- Must have extensive working knowledge and experience of NFPA codes and practices.
- Must have extensive working knowledge and experience of hydraulic simulation software Pipenet, in both Spray & Transient Modules.
- Additional experience in following areas also required as a minimum:
- Development/updating of Firewater P&IDs, PFD’s/UFD’s, Network Schematics, C&E diagrams.
- Experience in offshore testing of firewater systems, to establish existing pump performance and confirm firewater nozzle/monitor demand requirements are being met.
- Experience in carrying out site surveys, taking measurements and line-walking firewater system piping to ensure an accurate firewater schematic and Pipenet model can be produced.

Note that the engineer will initially work remotely, but may be expected to locate to DPE Main office later depending on internal COVID guidance. Offshore surveys will also be required as part of this scope. Company Overview:
Must be degree qualified with a degree in Safety or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical Degree).- Shall preferably have certifications related to Loss Prevention Design (CEng, PEng, software training certs etc.)
- TBOSIET / BOSIET and IMist certificates
Competencies/Skills/Others:
Should be pragmatic, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.- Able to present and write technical reports in fluent English.
- Expected to take ownership of issues and follow them through to completion.
- Willingness to interact directly with people.
- Good presentation skills.
- Ability to work in an organised and structured fashion, and within time constraints.
