For more information, visit Worley.com Purpose You will provide mechanical engineering services on large or mega projects to Worley' and its customers', including technical support and supervision within the mechanical engineering team. Responsibilities
Duties will include the following:
Shall work as a focal point for the project with good and effective communication with the engineers, project and client
Shall be able to guide the engineers on technical and non technical issues towards effective solutions
Supervision of mechanical engineers working for the project
Prepare mechanical man-hour estimate to perform project tasks
Prepare weekly mechanical progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis
Technical discussions with the client, project manager and other discipline leads to resolve the project issues
Equipment selection
Preparation of equipment data sheets
Preparation of specification
Preparation of requisitions
Technical evaluation of vendor bids and evaluation report
Vendor document review
Coordination with other disciplines
Preparation of other technical reports as required by the project
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the WorleyParsons Quality Assurance system relevant to the Oil & Gas Business Unit
Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Oil & Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
Qualification and Experience
Engineering Degree in mechanical discipline
Working experience in an engineering consultancy in a multidiscipline environment
+15 Years design experience in the rotating equipment for Oil & Gas environment
Good understanding of relevant international codes and standards e.g API, ASME etc.
Experience in handling the following type of rotating equipment:
Single and multistage centrifugal pumps and pump sealing systems
Positive displacement pumps
Large electric motor and gas turbine driven centrifugal compressors
Reciprocating compressors
Fans and blowers
Good communication and technical writing skills in English language
Work is performed in accordance with broad technical guidelines and with minimal supervision.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritisation of work to achieve them.
