Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Road Safety Auditor to join our team!
What You\'ll Be Doing:
Conduct road safety audits, at all stages, for various road designs including interchanges and intersections, road networks, highway corridors, temporary traffic management plans, and others with full attention to safety of non-motorized travelers
Conduct accident investigation and analysis
Develop design solutions that overcome address the identified safety issues in a practical and cost-effective measures using known effective counter measures using tools from available resources such as PIARC, International Road Federation, iRAP and the Global World Safety Partnership or innovative remedial measures to be developed as pilot projects which will be monitored to evaluate their effectiveness
Conduct road safety audit training workshops that train road designers in the conduct of various stage road safety audits
Review and assess road design standards and guidelines
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate
What Required Skills You\'ll Bring:
Accredited/registered Road Safety Auditor Team Leader from an internationally recognized organization such as SoRSA, CIHT, Trans-European Road Network (TERN) or IRF.
Degree in civil engineering from reputable university
10 years of experience of road safety audit across all stages and project types from major regional development plans, highways, grade-separated intersections, single carriageway and dual carriageway roads, large and small developments and temporary traffic management
10 years of experience in road safety engineering remedial measures development, implementation and evaluation, including the development and use of crash modification factors (CMF or CRF) and collision data analysis including the use of GIS Mapping systems (MapInfo or ArcGIS or similar)
A good knowledge of current trends and initiatives to improve road safety with special emphasis on Vision Zero Road Safety Strategies
Sound knowledge of the main road design standards, i.e. AASHTO, DMRB or EN standards with particular emphasis on geometric design, signing and road marking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
What Desired Skills You\'ll Bring:
Traffic engineering, including signals and junction evaluation and design
Minimum of two year\xe2\x80\x99s road design experience and construction or maintenance experience
