Job Summary

A Senior Resident Engineer responsible for leading the full supervision of major construction projects, ensuring compliance with design, specifications, standards, and contractual obligations. Acts as the senior authority on site, overseeing multi-disciplinary teams, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery.

Core Responsibilities1. Leadership & Team Management

Lead and manage a full supervision team including discipline engineers, inspectors, and coordinators. Provide technical guidance, review team performance, and ensure effective workflow on site. Represent the consultancy at all senior-level meetings with clients and contractors.

2. Project Execution & Supervision

Oversee site construction for high-rise towers, buildings, and villa developments. Ensure construction strictly adheres to IFC drawings, specifications, and UAE authority regulations. Resolve major technical issues and approve corrective actions. Ensure the contractor's work meets the required quality, safety, and progress standards.

3. Technical & Engineering Review

Review/approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and technical proposals. Coordinate with design, structural, MEP, and architectural teams for any design clarifications. Conduct advanced inspections to ensure high-end finishing quality, particularly for towers and luxury villas.

4. Contract & Commercial Management

Review and validate contractor claims, variations, EOT requests, and progress invoices. Ensure project execution aligns with FIDIC and contract requirements. Maintain full project documentation, logs, approvals, and contractual correspondence.

5. Stakeholder Management

Serve as the senior point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers, and authorities. Lead progress, coordination, and technical meetings. Provide senior-level reporting and recommendations to clients on project risks and solutions.

6. Safety & Compliance

Enforce strict implementation of the HSE plan and ensure compliance with safety standards. Conduct regular site safety audits with HSE teams. Take immediate action on safety violations or non-compliance activities.

7. Project Planning & Progress Control

Monitor the contractor's project schedule and identify risks, delays, and critical milestones. Recommend acceleration measures, re-sequencing, and corrective actions where needed. Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

8. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

Oversee full T&C of all systems including MEP, life safety, facade, and building automation. Verify quality of completed work, manage snagging/de-snagging, and ensure proper close-out documentation. Lead the handover process with authorities and the client.

Key Competencies

Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Deep knowledge in high-rise tower construction and complex building systems. Excellent understanding of FIDIC, authority regulations, and QA/QC processes. High-level communication, negotiation, and reporting skills. Ability to handle high-pressure environments and make critical decisions.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred). UAE / GCC authority approvals (DM, DDA, ADM, etc.) are an advantage. PMP, PMI-RMP, or similar certifications are beneficial.
