  • Reservoir Development
  • Reservoir Modeling
  • Reservoir Management and Surveillance
  • Reserves and Resources Assessment and Maturation
  • Business Plan
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Technical: 1. Reservoir Development
  • Analyse reservoir simulation models for field development planning, monitoring, forecasting and technical integrity.
  • Supervise the laboratory work and contractor work for any reservoir related studies to ensure proper implementation of the best and latest techniques and methods.
2. Reservoir Modeling
  • Provide technical expertise in reservoir simulation, pressure transient analysis, and PVT analysis including fluid sampling, laboratory experiments, and fluid modelling. Ensure industry best practices are employed.
  • Work closely with geologists to accurately build and upscale the geological model.
  • Conduct simulation runs using t-Navigator to provide forecasts to support decision making for various uses including Business Planning, validation of model calibration, Development Planning, etc.
  • Provide expertise to identify and support reservoir-engineering studies using appropriate techniques, which may include reservoir simulation, material balance, decline curve analysis.
  • Take lead role in the initial construction and maintenance of the full field dynamic simulation model. Ensure model is up to date and available to be used to support decision-making. Identify surveillance data required to ensure model calibration. Utilize fit for purpose modelling approach ranging from single well models to sector models to full the field model.
  • Assist in development planning for the Gas Field to increase value creation for all Shareholders and strive for increased gas recovery.
  • Build reservoir simulation models to evaluate various field development alternatives (full field and sector). Ensure models are ready to use as needed ahead of development well planning exercises
  • Identify and manage key Subsurface Uncertainties. Identify cost effective, value adding means to mitigate risks and reduce uncertainties
  • QC the work and train less experienced reservoir engineers in simulation techniques.
3. Reservoir Management
  • Integrate all well data and advise on reservoir performance, well performance, and fluid patterns and features. Recommend best strategy to manage reservoirs and maximise values in collaboration with operation teams.
  • Identify and implement new technology and/or approaches to reservoir management that fit Shah reservoir conditions and operating philosophy (minimize well interventions).
  • Carry out all aspect of reservoir management activities including performance evaluation, reservoir and asset evaluation, data collection, validation of dynamic model. Ensure that Company's integrated reservoir management guidelines are followed. Identify any gaps and work to close the same.
  • Governs field production according to company objective guidelines considering drilling and workover schedules. Identify risks to sustained production and provide mitigations to prevent shortfalls.
4. Reserves and Resources
  • Estimate reserves and resources implementing SPE-PRMS and the Company Reserves Management System (ARMS) guidelines
  • Identify opportunities to increase reserves. Develop maturation plan for each project.
  • Lead reserves audits with third parties
  • Map out short and long term de-risking and appraisal activities to promote volumes into reserves
  • Lead all reserves review sessions and obtain approval of reserves volumes
  • Lead efforts to load reserves numbers into RPPM. QC submittal of presentation and reserves/resources volumes.
