Position Overview
AECOM Middle East is seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to join its Cost Management team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services across complex infrastructure and building projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical capability, and an in-depth understanding of MEP cost management practices in the UAE construction sector.

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract

  • Support all phases of pre-contract MEP services, from concept through detailed design.
  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BoQs), and tender documentation for large-scale projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and value engineering assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of tender strategies and procurement advice.
Post-Contract
  • Manage cost control, variations, and change orders for ongoing projects.
  • Evaluate financial claims, additional works, and omissions in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Participate in negotiation meetings with clients and contractors to finalize cost settlements.
  • Prepare monthly cost and progress reports for project stakeholders.
  • Support dispute resolution, arbitration, and final account preparation when required.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in MEP quantity surveying, preferably in the UAE.
  • Professional accreditation such as MRICS is mandatory.
  • Strong command of MEP measurement methods and cost control systems.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as CostX, CATO, or similar estimation tools.
  • Thorough understanding of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
