Senior Quantity Surveyor - Building Projects

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced

Senior Quantity Surveyor

with over 12 years of proven expertise in building construction and real estate development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of projects, ensuring cost efficiency, compliance with budgets, and maximizing value for the company. This role demands strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of construction contracts, and hands-on experience with multi-million-dollar real estate projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review

pre-tender and post-tender cost estimates

for building projects. Conduct

feasibility studies, cost planning, and value engineering

exercises. Manage

procurement processes

, including tendering, evaluation, and award of contracts. Monitor project budgets, track

variations, change orders

, and maintain cost control. Prepare and submit

interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts

. Ensure compliance with

contractual obligations

, including FIDIC, NEC, or other relevant contracts. Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve

financial and contractual issues

. Evaluate and negotiate

claims, disputes, and final accounts

with contractors. Maintain

accurate records

of project costs and assist in financial reporting. Mentor and guide junior QS staff, providing leadership on cost management practices. Keep updated with

market rates, materials, and labor costs

for accurate forecasting.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in

Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field

. Minimum

12 years of experience

in building construction projects within a

real estate developer or construction company

. Strong knowledge of

construction contracts, procurement, and project management

. Proficient in

cost estimating software

(e.g., CostX, Cubit, or similar) and MS Office Suite. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Experience in

residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments

is preferred. Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) is advantageous.
