to manage all aspects of quantity checking, subcontractor coordination, and cost control. The role will include preparing and verifying quantities, issuing and negotiating subcontractor orders, and managing variations throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate should have a strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and experience in construction project cost management.
Key Responsibilities
:
Quantity Checking
: Accurately check and verify quantities from drawings and site measurements to ensure alignment with project specifications and BOQ.
Subcontractor Orders
: Prepare, issue, and manage subcontractor orders, ensuring scope clarity, compliance, and alignment with project timelines.
Subcontractor Negotiation
: Conduct price negotiations and contractual discussions with subcontractors to achieve competitive and fair agreements.
Variations Preparation
: Identify, prepare, and submit variation claims with detailed justifications and supporting documentation.
Cost Control
: Assist in budget management and cost planning; track project costs and provide input for financial forecasting and reporting.
Documentation & Reporting
: Maintain all quantity-related documents, change orders, subcontract agreements, and variation logs for audit and control purposes.
Coordination
: Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and integration of QS functions into project execution.
Requirements
:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 8-12 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and costing.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
