Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a top-tier developer in Abu Dhabi looking to hire a Senior Officer, Quantity Surveyor. This role at our esteemed client in Abu Dhabi involves close collaboration with senior leadership to facilitate cost estimation of construction projects, ensuring effective management of project budgets from inception to completion. The Senior Officer, Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in delivering the company\'s vision for projects.

Responsibilities:

- Develop comprehensive and precise cost estimates for construction projects, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and associated costs.

- Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents, conducting supplier evaluations, and engaging in contract negotiations.

- Identify potential opportunities for cost savings and propose alternatives aligned with the principles of "value engineering."

- Conduct on-site quantity measurements, ensuring accuracy, and prepare detailed quantity survey reports.

- Offer technical advice and assistance across all facets of quantity surveying activities.

- Participate in site visits and compile reports as directed by the project manager.

- Identify potential risks related to project costs and provide recommendations for effective risk mitigation.

- Evaluate the impact of variations and change orders on both project costs and schedules.

- Review, assess, and monitor the actual expenditure against the budget for both contractors and subcontractors.

- Collaborate with the internal functional departments to ensure streamlined cost estimation and bench-marking tasks.

- Work closely with the project team to address any quantity or cost-related issues that may arise during the project.

- Assist senior leadership in the formulation and management of project budgets, closely monitoring expenses and ensuring adherence to financial plans.

- Maintain open and effective communication with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders to address concerns, provide updates, and manage expectations.

- Ensure strict adherence to contractual and legal obligations related to quantity surveying and cost control.

- Stay informed about the latest industry trends, engaging in continuous learning and exploration.

Requirements

- Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related fields required.

- Professional work experience of over 5 years in a quantity surveying role, with a specific emphasis on 1+ years in the Middle East region.

- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

- Preferably adept in quantity surveying software and tools like Primavera, Revit, AutoCAD, Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools, Contract Manager, and DMCS (Document and Materials Control System).

- Strong technical expertise and practical experience in supervising real estate construction projects.

- Clear understanding of construction contract commercial documents, drawings, and specifications.

- Ability to work with effectively and interpret construction-related documents and information.

- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across diverse stakeholders.

- Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic, offering a linguistic advantage.

- Strong presentation, technical writing, and interpersonal skills for effective engagement.

- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain robust relationships with internal and external partners.
