Job Overview Responsible for planning, coordination, inspection and timely clearance of all the receiving Inspection of materials & equipment\'s received for the Projects and ensure its compliance with project requirements and procedures. Liaise with Warehouse, Purchasing, Discipline Engineer, Project Engineer, Certifying Authority, Customer, Senior Principal Certification Tech, Expeditors, QA Specialists, Testing Laboratories. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit Project specific Receiving inspection procedure for the projects incorporating relevant project specification requirements related to material receipt.
  • Responsible for manpower planning and forecast.
  • Ensure all Quality Inspector - Materials, understands applicable contract documents/standard codes.
  • Assure material received in accordance with the PO, ITP, and Technical Specification, Codes/Material standards to determine conformity. All inspection results need to be documented on warehouse checklist and if non conformity exists, suitable documentation (OS&D, NCR) shall be issued to establish corrective and preventive action. Perform receiving inspections such as visual, dimensional, verification of markings, review of Material Test Certificates/Inspection Release Notes in accordance with project specifications, codes/material standard and scope of work as noted in the PO and ITPs.
  • Generating change management process such as Site Query, Technical Query, Technical deviation, waivers etc. for any deviation to the project requirements.
  • Identify any additional testing requirement and arrange, coordinate & expedite with approved testing laboratories for testing with PMT approval. Participate in witnessing the lab testing as and when required.
  • Coordinate / Interface with Warehouse, Purchasing, PMT, Operations, Certifying Authority, Client, and subcontractor assuring conformity to project specifications.
  • Liaise with customer representatives ensuring product conformity and stage release for each activity denoted in the PO/ITP.
  • Liaise with PMT/Buyers and Expeditors for quick resolution of OS&D. Attend OS&D meetings for the assigned project where required.
  • Attend Joint Equipment Inspection as per project requirements where required.
  • Visit vendor premises and conduct vendor inspections and Audits as and when required, as per PO/ITP/Project requirement.
  • Exercise proactive approach in prevention of a technical problem by interaction with Purchasing, Engineers, and Management personnel.
  • Conduct routine internal audits to assess the effectiveness of quality system outlined in the PQP/ITP.
  • Participate in Tool Box Talks conducted in Warehouse to highlight the quality requirements and non-conformances noted during inspection.
  • Conduct Quality Walkthroughs to ensure proper material storage and preservation as per Customer requirement. Notify critical Quality Concerns to Director Assurance and ensure such Quality issues are entered in the Vendor database.
  • Review of Technical Bid proposals received from Bid group.
  • Provide monthly KPI data related to receiving inspection to Quality Assurance Team.
  • Conduct readiness review prior to material receiving to ensure the completeness of all procedures, ITPs, manpower approval etc.
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years diploma/ degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Electrical & Instrumentation.
  • 8+ years Quality control or related experience in Weld, Material, E&I Inspection.
Preferred Qualifications and Education
  • AWS or CSWIP Qualification
  • Knowledge of different Materials, Codes, Material standards, Customer specification, Manufacturing processes & Testing Methods is desirable.
