Imperium Commodity Search is currently working with a physical trading house within the food industry. Our client specialises in trading soft commodity products globally and is now on the hunt for a senior Pulses Trader to work out of their Netherlands based office. For the right candidate, our client will also consider a candidate with African market business based out of Dubai/Middle East.
This opportunity requires an established book of business within the pulses industry dealing with peas, lentils and/or beans.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage and trade physical back to back book of pulses across lentils beans and peas
• Network to develop relationships to increase pulses client base
• Market soft commodity products throughout Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa
• Build new relationships with pulses producers for sale of product globally
• Go to industry events and stay present with trends and news in the market to capitalize on trading opportunities
• Work alongside higher management to help develop trading strategy across pulses
• Liaise with shipping and logistics department to ensure timely delivery of trades

Requirements:

• Around 5 years' experience within a physical trading house covering soft commodity products
• Sound knowledge of pulses market internationally
• Ability to travel to meet clients where necessary
• Good relationships with producers/farmers and ends users
• Existing book of business across Pulses (lentils, beans, and peas) essential
• Proven experience within a business development position
• Eligibility to work in the Netherlands (or UAE)
