Key Accountabilities:

Role Purpose:

To take full responsibility of conceptualising, designing and producing a wide range of publications (booklets, exhibition catalogues, monographs, children's stories etc.) ensuring highest design, creativity and production standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Design.


Deliver publication design projects from concept to execution Develop unique creative designs that meet design briefs Demonstrate mastery in design fundamentals: typography, composition, colour, hierarchy and balance Take ownership of projects assigned and present/pitch finalized ideas and concepts to relevant stakeholders in a creative manner Take feedback and provide creative solutions for design problems Develop production scopes of work Design publications in multiple languages Assist in photo shoots and printing production to ensure that outcome meets requirements. Prepare files for production and liaise with the printers/publishers

2.Management.


Plan, organise and prioritise workload in order to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and be flexible to challenges Work collaboratively with the design team and with internal and external stakeholders Liaise with editors to implement editorial requirements. Organise files for accurate version control.

3.Quality control.


Ensure final production quality and accurate delivery of concepts. Take responsibility of colour proofing to ensure highest reproduction standards Attend press checks if needed Research production techniques and materials Work creatively within brand guidelines

4.Communication.


Develop presentation and pitch finalized ideas and concepts in a creative manner. Communicate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively to ensure workflow and quality. Qualifications/Requirements:Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Critical thinker who is able to question and challenge briefs and solve design problems creatively. Knowledge of printing and pre-press processes, paper types and book production techniques and materials Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills. Takes initiative and is self-motivated. Curious and passionate about book design, with a keen awareness of the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies, resources, and trends. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to multitask. Proactive problem-solving proficiency, and collaborative approach, with ability to work on a wide variety of projects and subjects. Advanced organisational skills. High quality portfolio of work demonstrating concept driven designs with well-crafted executions. Experience working within a creative team environment Previous experience in working within a museum, art institution, and/or book publishing is desirable Experience in colour proofing. Experience in book production and press checks. Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design with focus on publication design. * 6Years Experienced.
