Role Description
The Senior Project Engineer leads the plant's capital investment program. The role covers full project lifecycle management, development of technical master plans, evaluation of investment proposals, execution of engineering projects, and guidance to project engineers.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management
Lead planning, budgeting and execution of CAPEX projects.
Manage capital cash flow forecasts and control project expenditures.
Coordinate internal teams and external contractors involved in project delivery.
Prepare and present project plans, progress reports and risk assessments to stakeholders.
Drive process improvements and ensure successful integration of new equipment and systems into operations.
Strategic & Technical Planning
Develop and update annual site master plans covering building and equipment layouts.
Ensure alignment of capital plans with business and supply chain priorities.
Support development and application of engineering standards and best practices.
Early Management & Startup
Serve as site expert for Project Management Principles, Early Management and Vertical Startup.
Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning and qualification activities.
Train and coach project engineers in PM, EM and VSU methodologies.
Ensure all project deliverables, design locks and documentation are completed within the VSU framework.
Technical Expertise
Recommend improvements across safety, quality, cost, delivery and sustainability.
Design, source and validate equipment and process enhancements.
Ensure compliance with EHS, environmental and food safety requirements.
Review and approve engineering designs, specifications and changes.
Support lean manufacturing and TPM Early Management activities.
Business & Leadership
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Finance and plant leadership.
Lead and influence cross-functional teams supporting capital projects.
Manage engineering consultants, OEMs and contractors.
Problem Solving & Impact
Address complex plant engineering issues including utilities, processing systems, infrastructure and automation.
Make decisions on design, scope, resource allocation and project strategy.
Manage annual plant CAPEX budgets ranging from USD 2M to 10M; individual projects up to USD 15M.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of engineering project management; preference for 10 years and experience in food manufacturing.
Skills:
Strong project management capability, financial analysis, technical design review, contractor management, communication and stakeholder engagement.
