Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Officer who will play a key role in converting purchase requisitions into timely, accurate, and compliant purchase orders. The role ensures that procurement activities are executed efficiently, supporting operational continuity and budgetary control. A core focus will be on negotiating prices, terms, and delivery conditions to achieve best-value outcomes and measurable cost savings, while monitoring market trends and managing supplier performance.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of PRs into POs in alignment with company policies and operational needs.
• Lead negotiations on price, delivery, payment terms, and contract conditions to secure best value and mitigate risks.
• Identify and deliver measurable cost reduction opportunities through negotiation, demand consolidation, and specification review.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensure performance is tracked against KPIs, and resolve delivery or quality issues proactively.
• Guarantee all procurement activities comply with internal procedures, budget controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with planning, logistics, finance, and end users to align procurement actions with business priorities.
• Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics, and alternative sourcing options to support informed decision-making.
• Contribute to the enhancement of procurement processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency and transparency.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in a procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management role in a technical, manufacturing, or defence environment.
• Strong background in RFx processes, commercial evaluation, supplier selection, and basic contract negotiation.
• Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, cost-saving initiatives, and supporting key projects.
• Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for sourcing, PO tracking, and data reporting; SAP Ariba experience is a plus.
• Experience working with technical drawings/specs, and collaborating with Engineering on part or material definition.
• Familiar with mechanical parts, raw materials, and associated supplier bases, including distributors and manufacturers.
