Senior Procurement Engineer
Job Summary:
The Senior Procurement Engineer manages the technical and commercial aspects of procuring critical equipment and materials. They ensure purchased items meet project specifications, are delivered on time, and are procured at the best value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop procurement strategies and bidder lists for major equipment and bulk materials.
- Prepare and issue inquiry packages (RFQs), including technical specifications and commercial terms.
- Lead technical and commercial bid evaluations, clarifications, and negotiations with vendors.
- Prepare bid tabulations and recommendations for award.
- Manage the purchase order process, including expediting, inspection, and delivery.
- Resolve technical and commercial issues with suppliers throughout the procurement cycle.
- Review and approve vendor documentation.
- Coordinate with the Engineering and QA/QC teams during the procurement process.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related).
- 10+ years of procurement and subcontracting experience in an EPC environment.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, incoterms, and international logistics.
- Technical understanding of the equipment and materials being procured.
