Job Overview:
This position will provide technical expertise and guidance to teams to achieve project objectives and to develop management responsibilities. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate experience as a lead or section lead with 4 or more staff for projects/studies over a number of months
  • Interact on a daily or weekly basis with client representatives, internal management and other departments
  • Write for review by others Project Design Basis documentation, project execution plans & schedule updates
  • Provide technical direction in one or more process technologies (e.g. oil & gas production, gas treating, NGL recovery, LNG, refining or petrochemicals units)
  • Be technically competent in essentially all unit operations (fluid flow, separation, heat transfer, mass transfer, etc.)
  • Produce process deliverables: PFDs, philosophies, P&IDs, data sheets, complete simulations for process technologies and will guide others; develop the content of deliverables from first principles where necessary
  • Have made significant contributions to the engineering phase of at least three projects, and will also have experience of other project phases (commissioning, detailed engineering, basic engineering, studies)
  • Report to projects and chief engineer on schedule and progress of work activities against the plan
  • Allocate tasks to their teams, managing the relative strengths of the team members
  • Manage the efforts required for problem solving
  • Be commercially and risk aware, preparing economic analyses and quantifying risks, suggesting alternatives and proposing mitigation or avoidance measures on HSE, HAZOP, technical and commercial risk
  • Agree the structure of written reports and prepare the content for review and approval; make formal Process Technical Presentations internally to the company
  • Support new business generation by inputting to proposals, estimates and plans with the assistance of others
  • Use and understand the background of corporate guidelines, departmental system and procedures, draft alternative sections for discussion with departmental management
  • Be capable of fulfilling a range of tasks and duties, sometimes simultaneously, seeking additional resources from departmental management where necessary
  • Have skills in persuasion and assertion, presenting cases to projects and reaching a compromise where necessary
  • Be adaptable, demonstrating that they can meet all change(s) in technology and working practices, actively and positively supporting the need to develop multiple skills
Experience & Skills 1. Minimum of 15 years of broad based relevant industrial experience required, in an operational environment, preferably in plant management with at least a direct exposure to commercial and business development activities for refineries 2. Experience in discounted cash flow valuation methods and metrics such as NPV, IRR & financial metrics such as ROCE 3. Strong communication skills and proven decision making and problem solving skills. Good command of the English language is essential, both written and verbal. 4. Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Chemical Engineering is required. Job Type: Full-time Ability to commute/relocate:
