The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for overseeing and auditing contractors' schedules, ensuring alignment with client requirements and contractual obligations. The role focuses on reviewing and evaluating baseline programmes, monitoring project progress, and providing strategic planning advice to clients. He will conduct delay analyses, assess extension of time (EOT) claims, and prepare regular progress reports and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders. This position requires strong coordination with design teams, project managers, and cost control teams to maintain consistency between schedules, deliverable, and budgets, ultimately safeguarding the client's interests and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules (Primavera P6 or similar tools) in coordination with project teams and stakeholders.
2. Review contractors' baseline programmes, recovery plans, and look-ahead schedules, ensuring compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
3. Prepare and present progress reports, dashboards, and critical path analyses to clients and senior management.
4. Conduct delay analyses and evaluate extension of time (EOT) claims, providing recommendations to the client.
5. Monitor project performance against the approved programme, identifying variances and advising corrective actions.
6. Coordinate with design teams, project managers, and cost control teams to ensure alignment between schedule, budget, and deliverables.
7. Mentor and guide junior planning engineers within the team.
8. Attend project meetings, representing the planning function, and providing planning-related expertise.
9. Planning/ Monitoring/ Claims/ Risks & Contracts functions handled as a Client Representative.
10. Review, analyze & control Master Development / EPC / Contractor Baseline programs.
11. Prepare & Analyze Risk / Recovery schedules & highlight Top Management with upcoming Risks & Impacts.
