Position Overview
The Senior Planning Engineer role at AECOM Dubai is responsible for leading project planning, scheduling, and progress control activities across construction supervision works. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software covering design, procurement, and construction stages
  • Review and assess contractor baseline programmes for compliance with contract requirements, sequencing logic, and resource allocation
  • Monitor construction progress, analyse variances against approved schedules, and recommend corrective and recovery actions
  • Coordinate with the Resident Engineer and supervision team to verify site progress and ensure accurate schedule updates
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports highlighting milestones, delays, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Review and evaluate Extension of Time claims, delay analyses, and revised programmes in accordance with contract procedures
  • Develop progress measurement systems, performance indicators, and reporting dashboards
  • Conduct trend analysis and what-if scenarios to assess impacts of changes and support decision-making
  • Support preparation of cash flow forecasts, manpower histograms, and resource projections
  • Coordinate planning inputs with cost control, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure consistency
  • Participate in progress and coordination meetings, presenting programme status and recovery plans to clients and stakeholders
  • Support project risk identification and mitigation planning in coordination with project leadership
  • Ensure compliance with AECOM project controls procedures, documentation standards, and data integrity requirements
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planners and site engineers on planning and scheduling practices
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience as a planning or project controls engineer on construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and construction planning methodologies
  • Experience in progress measurement, delay analysis, and EOT evaluation
  • Ability to integrate planning data with cost, procurement, and construction activities
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills
