Job Description

The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for leading the planning and scheduling efforts for active projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and contractual requirements. This role involves developing detailed project schedules, analyzing project performance, and implementing strategies to mitigate delays and risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee baseline preparation and ensure it aligns with contractual requirements and project scope. Highlight potential risks and critical milestones during the tendering phase. Revise and finalize the baseline from all stakeholders and ensure its approved by client and project team. Identify key activities, critical paths, and dependencies. Review weekly and monthly lookahead plans and coordinate with project managers to align the lookahead with the overall schedule. Prepare strategies for all planning activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations. Analyze engineering activities for internal and external departments to optimize project execution. Lead progress meetings, providing updates on schedule performance, earned value, and critical path activities. Report any delays, risks, or issues affecting project performance. Prepare detailed delay impact analyses and recommend mitigation strategies. Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to address scheduling concerns and ensure project success. Lead and mentor junior planning engineers on planning activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field. 5-10 years of experience in planning and project management in engineering projects. Advanced experience with planning tools such as Primavera P6, advanced MS Excel formulas (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formatting), MS Excel Power Queries, and MS Power BI.
