Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Planning Engineer
to lead project planning, scheduling, and controls across major infrastructure and construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be a
Primavera P6 expert
, adept at
delay and EOT analysis
, and skilled in stakeholder coordination to ensure accurate, resource- and cost-loaded schedules that drive project success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize
baseline and updated project schedules
in
Primavera P6
, fully aligned with WBS/CBS structures and loaded with resources and costs.
Prepare
S-curves, histograms, progress reports
, and
look-ahead schedules
; facilitate weekly planning meetings with Project, Commercial, and Procurement teams.
Perform
critical path (CPM) and variance analysis
, conduct "what-if" scenarios, and recommend
recovery and acceleration strategies
.
Lead
Earned Value Management (EVM)
processes (PV/EV/AC), monitor productivity, and forecast
time and cost to complete
in coordination with QS and Cost Control.
Collaborate closely with site teams to verify progress (physical quantities and % completion) and update logic, calendars, and constraints accordingly.
Manage
delay and claims analysis
, including
EOT submissions
,
time impact analysis (TIA)
, and concurrency assessments.
Maintain a
risk register
and implement mitigation strategies; support development of
method statements
and
construction sequencing plans
.
Ensure all planning deliverables comply with
client, consultant, and contractual requirements
(including ADNOC/PMC standards, where applicable).
Contribute to
tender planning
by preparing high-level programs, key milestones, resource plans, and assumption registers.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in
Civil or Construction Engineering
(or equivalent).
8-12+ years
of experience in planning and scheduling within
GCC construction or contracting sectors
(buildings, infrastructure, or industrial/EPC projects).
Proficiency in
Primavera P6
; advanced user of
MS Project, Excel, and Power BI
.
Strong understanding of
CPM, EVM, forensic delay analysis
, and
FIDIC-based contracts
.
Proven record in managing
EOT claims
and interfacing effectively with clients and consultants.
Excellent command of
English
;
Arabic
language skills are an advantage.
UAE driving license
preferred.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Adherence to project schedules (SPI) and accuracy of forecasts.
Timely and high-quality delivery of weekly/monthly reports and dashboards.
Effectiveness of mitigation and recovery actions to minimize schedule delays.
Precision in progress measurement (% complete, quantities) and EOT outcomes.
