Job Description

The Senior Planning Engineer plays a pivotal role in the construction and building industry, particularly in managing and coordinating project schedules to ensure timely completion. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in planning and scheduling, adept at utilizing various project management tools and methodologies. The Senior Planning Engineer will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive plans that align with project goals and objectives. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for identifying potential risks and implementing effective solutions.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project) covering all phases of the project. Track project performance against the baseline schedule; provide early warning of delays and propose mitigation strategies. Generate and present regular progress reports, S-curves, critical path analysis, and earned value management (EVM) data to stakeholders. Coordinate with project managers and teams to forecast labor, material, and equipment requirements. Coordinate with project teams to gather input and ensure alignment on project timelines. Monitor project progress and update schedules as necessary to reflect changes and delays. Prepare detailed reports on project status, including forecasts and performance metrics. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines. Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss project updates and address concerns. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with procurement teams to align schedules with material and resource availability. Assist in the preparation of project budgets and resource allocation plans.

Preferred Candidate:

Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
