Overview / Responsibilities
Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is currently inviting applications of Senior Piping Materials Engineers with experience in oil and gas engineering for our Engineering team in Abu Dhabi
Below are some key responsibilities and duties:
Responsibilities:
Acts as focal Point within Mechanical Materials Supplier(s) and Sub Supplier(s)
Review Enquiry and Purchase Orders prior to order placement to ensure supplier alignment
Preparing piping material Specification & Valve specifications with complete understanding of corrosion analysis report & process PFD\'s. Preparing design basis, perform various calculations as per ASME 31.3 for pipe wall thickness calculation & wall thickness selection report, Miter Bend, Reinforcement Pad
Exposure in planning & developing Piping study layouts, piping general arrangements, isometrics checking & Preparing Material Take Off at all the stage of projects
Preparing and checking:
Technical purchase specifications, Material Requisitions, Performing Technical Bid Analysis. Review of Vendor drawings & documents for different Piping special items
Preparing Insulation, Painting and Wrapping/ Coating specifications
Review subsequent Vendor Enquiry and Purchase Order information (from supplier) to ensure technical alignment
Review supplier and sub supplier\'s technical capability prior to order, during order placement and report accordingly
Monitoring the execution of all Piping Material deliverables within control to ensure they meet the project program and deadlines
Preparing accurate and reliable progress reports and man-hour for the completion of work for Lead Piping and Layout Engineers
Good material database skill and experience to work in integrated material control systems with PDS/ PDMS 3D-CAD. Good knowledge of SP MARIAN
Coordinating the project activities and preparing specifications with the clients to ensure that the documents are per the specifications of clients and in line with International Standards
Preparing Schedule of Quantities for Invitation of Bids
Experienced in SAP for preparing Purchase requisitions & releasing Po\'s to vendors. Hands on experience on Software
Adhere to and comply with, specific engineering and quality procedures stipulated within the enquiry / order and provide feedback for continuous improvement of both vendor and home office
Ensure all quality requirements are understood and included in both Home office and suppliers / sub-supplier\'s relevant documentation
Ensure all testing requirements are understood and included in both Home office and suppliers / sub-supplier\'s relevant documentation
Ensure all suppliers and sub suppliers documents are issued in line with agreed schedule
Ensuring all appropriate SDRs have been approved and are \'in place\' with the supplier in a timely manner
Ensuring all appropriate suppliers documents are \'coded\', returned through Aconex and suitably approved to match the associated manufacturing phase
Promote and use \'Fit For Purpose\' initiatives to maximize efficiency in valve procurement/supply process
Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
Provide discipline support to the business
Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports
Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution
Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports
Executing assigned personal objectives
Management of third-party suppliers in the execution of Engineering delivery
Skills / Qualifications
BSc, BEng or equivalent professional qualification
Minimum of 10 years\' experience in the oil and gas industry
With experience in material/valve
Demonstrated leadership experience and previous track record of successfully working in engineering team
Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
