Responsibilities

The Senior Piping Engineer co-ordinates all the piping engineering, piping design and equipment layout functions to meet the objectives of a Project. Responsible authority over the Lead Piping/Layout Engineer, Lead Stress Engineer, Lead Material Engineer, all assigned to the discipline to complete the plant layout & piping design and engineering activities. Organise and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of piping discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule. Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Control, monitor and progress these deliverables to an agreed schedule. Organise and manage the resource requirements for the piping discipline. Ensure recognised offshore engineering practices applicable to piping design and topside/plant layout are adopted. Exercise guidance to staff in the preparation of piping materials and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards. Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising across the organisation with members of other disciplines and departments. Create an awareness and willingness to work in "break through" and partnering environment. Appraisal, training and development of personnel. Quality Assurance - Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems. Safety - Responsible for personal safety and working within the OHS&W procedures.

Job Specific Knowledge: A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides equipment layout and piping design for oil and gas facilities. Extensive current design experience is required in piping engineering, piping stress, pipe supports, topsides equipment layouts and detailed piping design, all gained with notable design contractors and/or oil/gas companies within the petrochemical industry particularly with respect to offshore oil and gas installations. Sufficient knowledge of piping materials to guide staff in the preparation of piping and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards. Relevant experience of the associated engineering disciplines of Metallurgy, Mechanical, Structural, and Process systems would be a distinct advantage. Technical and Industry Experience

Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers. A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the piping engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields. A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements. Competent use of piping engineering specific software. Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite. Substantial technical land practical experience in piping engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams. Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 15 years piping engineering experience in oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
