About the Team

Careem Express is a vertical within the Careem ecosystem - a startup within a startup. We are responsible for last mile delivery for hundreds of merchants in a variety of industries including e-commerce, food, grocery and other areas. We are a small and passionate team that is building the next big vertical for Careem.

About the Role

The Senior Operations Lead at Careem Express plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and efficiency within the organization\'s delivery and logistics operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of managing complex processes, optimizing resources, and fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams. The Senior Operations Lead will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the end-to-end delivery process, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Fleet Acquisition - plan and acquire optimal number of Captains to ensure healthy metrics
  • Vendor Relationship Management - manage existing vendors while identifying strategic partnerships with vendors
  • Quality - ensuring Captains adhere to Careem experience standards and improving on the existing SOPs
  • Compliance - liaise with the compliance and legal departments to ensure compliance of vendors and Captains
  • Industry Knowledge - staying up to date on the on-ground situation of the market and plan ahead accordingly
  • Data Analysis - Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement within the delivery and logistics operations.
What you\'ll need
  • 3-5 years of operations and fleet management experience from food aggregator, grocery or on-demand logistics industry
  • High ownership - track record of taking initiatives to improve operational processes and metrics
  • Basic knowledge of business financials in order to use operations to impact business costs and overall PnL
  • Intermediate proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel and able to navigate through business trackers
  • Ability to read, create and re analyze data from dashboards
  • Target oriented & Problem solver
  • Innovative out- of the box thinking
  • Energetic and excited about joining a startup environment
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (both verbal and written)
